Use this powerful process to become more mindful of how to identify the “early warning signs” of stress. Gabriella uses the acronym called “STOP” as an exercise you can use.
S = Stop doing what you are doing
T = Take a few SLOW breaths
O = Observe your mind (is it fast slow, etc.), Observe your body (warm, cold, tight, relaxed, incorporate the senses (smell, taste, see, hear…), Observe your feelings — Do all observations with curiosity and without judgment. It just is what it is. — Continue with your awareness and breath
P = Proceed doing what you are doing … mindfully or change doing what you are doing if you did something that is not helpful to you
